The Cure will begin their headlining tour of North America

Starting mid September of this year, British group The Cure will begin their headlining tour of North America.

Out of the 20 dates spanning a little over four weeks, the tour has three Canadian dates scheduled: Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The opening act for both the American and Canadian dates will be 65 Days of Static.

The Cure are often considered one of the pioneers of the post-punk/alternative rock revolution of 1980s England. Their first album was Three Imaginary Boys in 1979 and their most recent album of new material is the self-titled record from 2004, which is the band’s twelfth full-length. Last year, their seventh album, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, which came out in 1987 was reissued as double disc filled with rarities and b-sides from 1986 to 1987.
