Daft Punk Touring North America

Although French house duo Daft Punk do not have a new album out, they will be playing select dates and cities this summer across North America.

To appease their fan base, who have not heard new material since the group’s third studio album, Human After All (2005), Daft Punk have at least nine dates scheduled for July and August of this year in both the U.S. and Canada, including Lollapalooza in Chicago.

Putting the spice back in to touring

The Spice Girls will receive £10-million (R144-million) each for their reunion tour. The band are expected to announce details of the 25-date global extravaganza at London’s The O2 tomorrow.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “This deal has taken years to sign off. But, finally, all of the girls are on board. No expense is being spared to make this an unrivalled spectacular.”

Travel agents selling insurance to be regulated

Travel agents who sell insurance with holiday packages will be regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA), the Government said. Ed Balls, the Treasury Minister, said that from 2009 travel agents and tour operators will have to seek authorisation from the FSA or become an appointed representative of an authorised insurer or broker before they can sell travel insurance.

Cycle touring in Finland

Touring on a bicycle doesn’t need to be high-tech and it doesn’t need to be difficult. You don’t have to be a seasoned cyclist or even particularly fit, though of course the better shape you’re in, the easier it will be. Leisurely trips can include just a few hours of cycling per day leaving the rest of your time free for sightseeing or other activities, but it’s just as easy to challenge yourself with consecutive full days of riding. The Cure will begin their headlining tour of North America

Starting mid September of this year, British group The Cure will begin their headlining tour of North America.

Out of the 20 dates spanning a little over four weeks, the tour has three Canadian dates scheduled: Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. The opening act for both the American and Canadian dates will be 65 Days of Static.
